The Senior Section Programme
There are many opportunities available for the Senior Section. These include:
- Look Wider. This is available to all Senior Section members. It is a personal development programme that is fun, flexible and challenging. It is divided into eight areas (octants) with lots of activity choices. It is an opportunity to try new things, extend abilities and share knowledge with others.
- Young Leader Qualification. This is open to Senior Section members from their 14th to 18th birthday. From the age of 16 Young Leaders can work on the Adult Leadership Qualification.
- Queen’s Guide Award. This is the ultimate award in Guiding and is open to any member aged 16 – 25. It presents a series of challenges that allow the participant to give sustained service to guiding and the community as well as developing their own skills – and having fun!
- Innovate - Girlguiding UK’s Forum for Young Women.
- 4ward, 4self, 4others - Girlguiding UK’s peer education initiative.
- Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Girlguiding UK is an operating authority for this nationally recognised accreditation scheme.
Further information about these and other opportunities, as well as general information, can be found on the Senior Section CD, available from Guiding Essentials, the Girlguiding UK Online Shop.
